WHO WE ARE

Joemar Shipping Limited is a Freight Forwarding  Company based in Tema, Ghana. Registered by the registrar general department as limited liability company under the company code 1963 Act 179 in 27th June 2000.

It was founded at the time cargo handling in the country by many freight forwarders was not the best. The purpose therefor was to establish and improve upon delivery efficiency rate and assist other freight forwarders and importers with consultancy services in the area of compliance. The company is 100% indigenous.

Since its establishment, we have developed steadily over the years and has become one of the most reliable, efficient and trustworthy company. We are a member of Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders, Licensed Customs House Agent, and Licensed by Ghana Port and Harbour Authority and other affiliated bodies.

We believe in providing services that put smile on the faces of our clients and principals. Communication play major important role in achieving customer satisfaction. When to Communicate, When to Say What and How to Say It, is very important in creating healthy cooperate and clients relationship.

We may have all the expertise but one uncivilized use of language  can just kill the business over night. Been mindful of this, as a matter of policy, we keep providing constant training opportunities to our staffs on communication skills. Proper use of  language and changes in customer behaviors. The training  aims at helping them identifying the different behaviors of individual clients at every particular point in time and the appropriate  strategy needed to achieve job satisfaction.

Upon this back drop, we have put together solid and experience management team headed by Ephraim Osei-Marfo(MD). Since 2000, he has steered the affairs of this company haven in mind the above, in the right direction. His leadership qualities has earned the company much recognition, lnternal and International.

Because of his visionary leadership, we have become trusted name in the freight forwarding and project logistics industry across the globe. Many foreign investors interested in investing in Ghana’s economy turn to consult us for all the information needed. Obike International, Parts Direct, Kumasi Agricultural Tools are few to mention.  He is very much enlightened and believes in dialog in addressing differences in opinion to achieve  growth.

Joemar has five member board of directors, they monitor and ensures the administrative practices are in accordance with the company’s vision and policies.

WORK FORCE

We have permanent staff of ten (10) and some casual workers on commission basis.

Periodically, we offer them in-service training and short courses to upgrade their knowledge on modern day freight forwarding. There is a need for every company to motivate her workers to bring best out of them. One way of motivating them is to upgrade their knowledge from time to time.

Due to such training, our staffs have become well cultured, more customer friendly and very active business minded people, they now understand why they should take personal responsibility on every job assigned to them.

On behalf of the management and the entire staff, we wish all our clients and principals long lasting business relationship.

Freight Payment Options

We act as freight recipients for our principals here in Ghana. In the case of  import to Ghana, if for some reason consignee is unable to pay freight at port of loading and wish to do so here in Ghana, we can negotiate terms of payment with our principals and agree on freight collect. Copies of shipping documents can be issued for the purpose of customs clearance documentation only whiles waiting for the payment. Until full amount is paid  consignment can not be released. On export from Ghana, flexible payment can be agree on with terms and conditions apply.

If you are a shipper or forwarder and have difficulties accepting this services to Ghana due to unreliable nature of your rep. Please talk to us for assistance. Our reconciliation section ensure all freight collect are remitted immediately.

Compliance Solutions

We are very particular about compliance hence, organizing in service training for our staffs from time to time upgrading  their knowledge and skills in current customs requirement on export and import documentation in Air and Sea freight. We believe compliance ensure efficiency.

It’s was noticed that, some of the industry players often lack adequate knowledge on custom procedures, causing them sometimes on the bitter side of the law. Compliance consultancy was formed to assist colleague forwarders and importers to address the problem. It was amazing to know that, some importers could import products into the country without knowing the tax implication on the  item imported.

To empower customers understand the operations of the system and appreciate the work of  freight forwarder, We have been educating them on custom procedures, tax rate and it implications on their business and documentation needed for clearing/ forwarding a particular products. The major idea behind this, is to make them fully compliance with the system and avoiding haven issues with the law.
